Thanks to Phina and Santa for being so awesome to me. Santa laced me with a Whole Foods Bag Choc-Full of Tokyo Tribe(my new obsession, see old Hasheem blogs) Swag. TOns of Manga, key chains and Mixtapes of NewJack Swing and early 90’s RnB, One of many things we have a common love for. I’m so Grateful. Santa and I are going to do big things together this year. Such a genuine and humble soul. Can’t wait until March to hang with him in his neck of the woods, good ol’ Japan.

Television, What would I be without you? I watched a bootleg of Gran Turino last night with Tyler. I was actually pretty impressed, aside from sub-par acting. The story, the message, soooooo touching. I recomend it. Def. wait for the dvd or cop a bootleg. Clint is so old but still goes in. Great Flick!!!

Good Afternoon Tumblr,

     I realize its been quite some time since we last spoke so please allow me to fill you and my faithful followers in on everything. We are one day away from the end of tour and i’m as happy as can be while at the same time extremely stressed out about the upcoming situation that is the recording of my second solo record. I’m coming to realize that I have a real problem and I need to curb my gear addiction before it gets out of hand and work more on my technique, i’ve been reading up and learning a lot more about the scientific side of recording and it has come in rather useful thus far

     I’m continually questioning everything about it as well as trying to get organized, this will be my first endeavour where I have other people play on my songs other than me, I’m lucky enough to get Steve from The Color Fred, Erica from The Art School and Eric from GCH to be players on this record and while i’m very excited about the prospect of other players interpretations of my songs it also stresses me out and slows me down overall. I don’t ever think I could be one of those assholes who spends years making a record, I work fast. Not rushing things fast but I get in a state of mind where all I can do is work in the studio everything else becomes null and void for that amount of time until the project at hand is finished, I guess in many ways I have a pretty obsessive personality when it comes to creating things….if I could only apply that to things like eating salad and working out. 

     We are going to be off tour for a whole two months! I can’t even imagine how i’m going to spend that kind of time. As happy as it makes me I also find myself depressed by the idea of 2 straight months without an instilled daily structure of any kind, not that much of importance goes on during the daytime hours of tour but at the same time you always have the show at night that keeps you balanced during the day, its just enough responsibility to keep you relaxed, its like “As long as i’m at the stage by 7:15 ready to rock I can do whatever I want”.

     My dog Andre (whom I love more than most humans) is probably going to undergo a rather expensive and invasive surgery next month and i’m somewhat terrified, it involves widening his nostrils as well as clipping off a small piece of his pallette for increased breathing ability (he’s a french bulldog a flat faced bracyephelic breed..yes its probably spelled wrong). French bulldogs are somewhat notorious for not being easy to put under and have in some occasions died, i’m not sure what to do to be honest, this surgery is going to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500.00 and while I will gladly spend the money to take care of one of my best buddies in the whole world the thought of paying someone that kind of dough for something that could possibly kill my dog scares the shit out of me, I trust that the vet i’ve selected knows his shit but it would be hard not to place blame if something goes wrong and i’m left broke and without my dog, what would you do?

     Speaking of hospitals my mom recently had heart surgery to replace a busted lead in her pacemaker…a lead which was supposed to last for around 5 years and made it to 3. I’m happy to report that everything went smoothly and she is fine. I hate hospitals/medicine/doctors I have no desire to be cured ever, I’m batshit crazy and i’m almost entirely certain there are shit tons of pharmecuiticals that could make me a happy balanced human being but I don’t fucking care that shit is not for me, I don’t even like prescription drugs or antibiotics….i’m definetly not the healthiest human being and I would say out of everyone else in my immediate family my lifestyle is the shittiest, though I rarely get sick and and at least one member at a time of my family is always sick.

SEATTLE……got in late. SO cold in my room. The Air Conditioner pretends to be a heater when you turn the dial to warm or warmer but it’s a liar. Fell asleep for 20 minutes. 5:32 am. BANG!BANG! My big cousin Dame at the door. “Let’s Party”, Motherfucker do you know what time it is? Go get Dejesus. He does. Back to sleep. Dreaming. RollerCoasters and Marshmallows. BANG! BANG! I’m gonna kill this motherfucker!!! Wait, that’s not Dame, am I DREAMING?!?!?! IT’s…….IT’s………this can’t be real. I can’t sleep now. I’m trying to figure out what the fuck just happened. STILL. As I type this I must say SEATTLE is my new favorite city. HANDS DOWN! It was all a dream, I used to read PENTHOUSE magazine…..

I havent had net to much since weve been out here in the cold and lovely Canada. So i havent blogged. The drive from calgary to Vancouver was beautiful. All id see when looking out the window was snow covered mountains and trees. amazing!! We were so high in the mountains that my ears were all clogged from the air pressure for a majority of the ride. So i just listened to music and relaxed while watching the scenary. An abrupt wake up out of tranquility was arriving in Vancouver oh man its shady as hell out here. Almost worse than amsterdam woo.

Coming back to the states tonight yay. Show me some <3 peace

Sneak Peak: Gym Class Heroes in the Denny’s Kitchen!

The guys from Gym Class Heroes took a break from their busy touring yesterday to cook up a dish for the upcoming Rockstar Menu hitting this summer!  The name of the dish will be unveiled soon, but we can let you know that the guys made it with Texas toast, eggs, 2 strips of bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, hashbrowns, grilled bell peppers, roasted tomatoes and a special ranchero sauce!  Check back for more teasers and updates on Gym Class Heroes and the other new Rockstar Menu bands, and in the meantime, enjoy our exclusive behind-the-scenes photos!

I found this children’s book while waiting at the Canadian border. The Bear Cub had left the door open, which allowed the Moose to gain entry to the house and take a shower. Riveting stuff!

…So I’ve been rocking this army green winter jacket that my boy De Jesus so kindly gave me. Only thing is, it’s so convincingly military issued that a WWII veteran approached me at the airport this morning and gave me props for my service. Before I could explain otherwise, he was already pointing out the numerous bullet holes throughout his legs and the shrapnel still in his hands. He then showcased a thumb that was, can I say, super gnarly and pretty much out of its socket. At this point I didn’t have the heart to tell him I was merely a common citizen insignificantly donning a replica army coat, so I thanked him, shook his hand and walked away. Big ups to that dude.

Bleed it out!! Bleed it out!! No more sad song quotes. No more subliminal stabs. No more ass dragging. No more bottom lip out sulking.No more cancer inducing. No more blame gaming. No more shame. No more. NO MORE. This year, 3 weeks in, has already been one of the worst. I’m officially starting the “SHITBETTERGETAWESOMEQUICK” CAMPAIGN  09’. I’ve been in a cave for almost a month, waddling in my own self-pity. Yesterday I WOKE UP and stepped out of it only to see that nothings really changed. It’s still cold outside, having wet feet still pisses me off, BUT I’M HERE. For Fuck sakes, I’M HERE. ALIVE. Alive and Lively. My eyes have duffel bags under them, i my finger tips are nailless and bloody, my body feels like makeshift tank rolling its way through the rest of this tour. There are however many many things to be thankful for. My Band, I love you motherfuckers more than you’ll ever know. Our crew, you bust your asses and its appreciated. My Family, as distant as the past 5 years has made us, not a day goes by that i dont think about you, ALL OF YOU. My friends, I would not be here, ALIVE, if not for your kind words and encouragement. Bob and Jd, my two dads, you guys keep the wires grounded, sometimes i feel like im going to spontaneously combust, you guys remind me that shit only happens on Unsolved Mysteries. PumpkinFace, I love you beyond words. We both have a lot of screws that need to be tightened. Alot of hedges that need trimming but i know as much as you do that so did Jack and Sally, Johnny and June, Donny and Roberta, the last one may not be the best example, but you get it. Peter, I am my brother’s keeper, you keep me from losing touch, the big brother I begged for when mine were no where to be found. Pain, you’re laugh can make my worst day seem alright.Thank you all. From this day fourth, I am and will remain a changed man, emphasis on the last word. PS. Point me out a perfect man, i’ll call you a liar and pick out at least one flaw but at the end of the day it’s our imperfections that make us who we are. Who am I anyway? According to my laptop it is 11:13am I’am somewhere in strange ohio, as per usual I have yet to go to sleep from the night before, my most enjoyable hours of life right now are from around 3am to around now when everyone wakes up, it is the only way to really attain any private time to yourself, i need a good solid hour with my ipod every day or bad shit starts to happen in my brain. We have 10 days left of tour and I think everyone is anxious to get home including myself. I need more music in my life, its crazy to think that I guess in my line of work, but on a tour like this where were only doing a 20 minute set it doesn’t really cut it, by the time your kicking ass its time to get off the stage..

I spent a good amount of my evening studying up on proper mic placement for recording acoustic guitars and watching a yahoo Q&A with Ryan Adams, who pretty much just announced that he won’t be making music anymore (I doubt its true but we’ll see). I can think of no other musician who should be more idolized than this man, aside from being one of the most brilliant songwriters I should hope to hear in my lifetime he is an admirable dude when it comes to the issues of musical integrity and ethics. Someone commented on how Mr. Adams is a prolific songwriter he laughed and simply said something to the effect of “I’m a musician because i’m to much of an insane fucked up lunatic to do anything else, this is the one thing i’m good at. Most musicians today have some sense of entitlement, I spend about 5 hours a day writing if I couldn’t do that I don’t deserve any of this”….”if you can play a guitar and hum a tune its fucking simple”…..thats the fucking truth

Snow is covering the ground everywhere outside. Theres nothing but trees and snow. When  your touring you need a light at the end of the tunnel that your looking foward to or else your mind will get lost somewhere down the road. When all forms of entertainment are no longer entertaining all thats left to do is appreciate the world around you.

Dear, Mr. Smith

I only wish I could have met you or witnessed one of your live performances you have no idea what your music means to me and so many others, it has been 6 years since the world heard of your tragic end but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace good sir and my heart and thoughts go out to your fans, family and friends. Your music lives on and even just today made me feel a whole lot better about some of my own hardships. Like Tracy said, it wasn’t music as much as medicine.

I did not succeed in aquiring a copy of Angus today which kind of bums me out and tommorow were off to visit americas great shitty northern brother CANADA. My thoughts have been plaguing me endlessly today and right now it feels as though someones grounding my brain into burger. I suppose writing this kind of self indulgent crap doesn’t really help but whatever…I need to start saving money and I need to invest my money in something other than guitars, I need to start working out and eating better at least a little bit. I’ve somewhat come to the conclusion that true happiness and peace of mind is something that your born with not something you earn through dedication or hardwork so maybe I won’t bother trying any of the aformentioned things….who knows

 I’m missing friends and family and store a ton right now, in my absence i’ve been informed that my favorite sandwich joint in town has closed up shop :( also that our local shithole coffee house Steel City may also be on its way out. So much for Phoenixville being the next up and coming town, so please if you would visit www.creepindustries.com and order a t-shirt or something so that we don’t end up like the rest of the folks on the block we sure would appreciate it. 

I feel as though my future in life is very uncertain and it causes me a great deal of stress…I suppose every one suffers from this in one way or another, but what can you do really.

Headed back to NYC tomorrow morning for a couple days to regroup. I miss my condo. The smell, my bed. smoking a cigarette, flipping through a good magazine and listening to sam cooke while I #2.
